AMP Guidelines for Trainers

Life is beyond the opportunities you see in front of you. After gaining education and
expertise in your respective fields, it is now time for you to give back to the coming
generation. The students who you would be engaging with will be final year students
from various streams who need to be guided to face interviews in the corporate world.
This would open new avenues with new hopes that would lead them to success…Insha
Allah.

Do’s:
 Do practice and master your material.
 Do make sure your course is engaging by using ice breakers, adding team or
group activity, games, etc.
 Do make sure you know your audience
 Do show confidence in your knowledge and preparation.
 Do use language as per the target audience.
 Do adapt your training style during the course of the workshop if required.
 Do use your training area and be space aware, moving around helps to keep the
energy in the room.
 Do make sure you introduce your course with a brief overview of the training
subject’s main points.
 Do use repetition to help students to grasp and retain information.
 Do test your students frequently. Testing is an objective way to determine
whether training achieved its goals.
 Do praise excellent work individually or as a team
 Do give time for question and answer session
 Do remember not to feel offended or intimidated by any question, remember
that no one is there with the intention of putting you to test.
 Do make sure you are empathic and compassionate towards the students
 Do remember to lookout for what works best.
 You are going as an Ambassador of AMP to these lectures. You are requested to
to make a good rapport with the Teachers and Principals and encourage them to
join AMP.

to join AMP to give back to the society as soon as they are out of college.

format will be given to you) and please share that sheet with AMP on
info@ampindia.org
 You may also have a follow up with students from time to time

Dont’s:
 Don’t panic if you make an error, use it as a learning curve and a chance to
change, develop and improve your delivery.
 Don’t fixate on time and rush – but do keep your session on track – Start and
Finish on time
 Don’t talk at your students, talk with them.
 Don’t feel like you have to know everything, or answer every question. Be willing
and confident to say, “I don’t know, but I will find out and let you know – giving a
realistic time period here will build your credibility.
 Don’t forget to ask students to share their experiences relevant to the topic at
hand.
 Don’t feel nervous if you have to stop conversation that is going in the wrong
direction
 Refrain from discussing religious or political views before/after/during the
conversation
 Do not demotivate the students at any given point of time
 Do not be harsh/rude with the students
