There are some 'Container pack' transactions which may happen implicitly and nothing to worry about it.If
any transaction that you perform in WMS results into pack/split/merge of LPNs, then you could see a
Container Pack transaction.
You could also do Container Pack/Unpack/Merge transactions explicitly.

Hi,

When you pick release the item and pack the same into the container, we can see the container pack
transaction type.  But when we unpack any material out of the LPN we can see the  container uppack
trasaction type.

These transation type will never stop you from packing / unpacking of the material assoicated to  LPN.

Thanks
What is LPN and why do we use it for do you have white
paper?

It's basically the vehicle (a physical warehouse entity like a pallet, a bulk caton for ex.) used to be moved and
transacted to ease the stock management.

1 - It is a vehicle contains a pallet and inside the pallet there are many items?

2 - where the setup is done and how it is moved?

Hi,

In Oracle Warehouse Management, a license plate number (LPN) is any object that holds items. Although
LPNs are associated with containers, they do not need to represent a physical entity, such as a box. Thus, you
can define an LPN as a collection of items.
A single LPN contain many quantities of the same item and or/ differnt item
Ex:
LPN L001 contains the item 001
LPN L002 contains 10 quantities of item 001
LPN L003 contains 10 quantities of item 001 and 1 qty of item 002
LPN L004 contains 10 quantities of item 001, item 002 and item 003

You can use LPNs in the following ways:

o Store information about an LPN such as item, revision, lot, serial, organization,
subinventory, or locator
o Track contents of any container in receiving, inventory, or in-transit
o Receive, store, and pick material by LPN
o View on hand balances by LPN
o Move multiple items in a transaction by LPN
o Transfer LPN contents
o Pack, unpack, consolidate, split, and update LPNs
o Print labels and reports for referencing container contents
o Track nested LPNs Oracle Internal & OAI Use OnlyOracle Only
o Reuse empty LPNs
o Receive and send LPN information on an ASN

You can generate LPNs using one of the following methods:
o Automatically by submitting a concurrent request
o Manually by generating LPNs using a mobile device
You can submit a concurrent request to generate multiple LPNs.
1> These LPNs might be associated with a particular container item, or they could be simply labels with no
physical container association.
2> Those LPNs can be generated at the subinventory and locator, or they could have no location until they
are packed.
For example, assume that you want to assign LPNs to large boxes that will be stored in a particular
subinventory and locator. In this case, you can submit a request to direct the system to generate the number of
LPNs that you need, based on the parameters that you specify in the concurrent request. In another example,
a warehouse manager might pregenerate hundreds of LPN labels and distribute these preprinted labels to the
warehouse operators. This way, whenever an operator needs a new LPN, he or she can peel off the next label
and use it, rather than having to print a label with each new transaction.

Submitting a concurrent request

To submit the LPN generation request, you must select the Generate License Plates option from the Oracle
Warehouse Management Navigator. Next, select Generate LPN as the request that you want to submit, and
then indicate the appropriate LPN generation parameters in the Parameters window
Using a Mobile Device to Generate LPNs
LPNs can be generated at their point of use in mobile receipt and task forms. When the cursor is in the LPN
field, press Generate to automatically generate the LPN.
The system default shortcut key, for Generate is [CTRL]+[G].
This can be customized for each mobile device. The actual key mapping is stored in the default.ini file

Thanks a lot for your information

1 - When I need to deliver to the customer many orders and the van distributer will carry many deliveries for
many customers
can I consider the van as a LPN to track the quantities and deliveries in the VAN?

The LPN stands for a physical entity inside the warehouse to be carried by warehouse keepers, but not the
gathering as a van or truck - the delivery is closer to what you're looking for.

However you can define the vehicle as a shipping container with the LPN containers to feed it - please refer
to the shipping User Guide and containerization feature.
Regards.
