POLYKEN PIPELINE COATINGS The World Leader in Technology, Quality and Service eed. day PIPELINE COATINGS PRODUCT INFORMATION POLYKEN PIPELINE PRIMERS #1019, #1027, and #1029 BASIC USE: ‘The Polyken Pipelihe Primers listed above have been designed and modiied to replace Polyken’s previous primers, #919, #927, and #929. The improved primers are buly| rubber based elastomers blended with Polymeric resins to provide excellent adhesion and cathadie aisboncing resistance. Like the 900 series primers, they can be used for machine or hand brush application, are non-toxic and non-poluting. and ‘conform to local and national standards. These improved primers offer a signfteant improvement in cathodic disbonding resistance, * Polyken #1019 Pipeline Primer is recommended primarily for machine application to new or smooth pipe surfaces. itpromotes high adhesion o the Polyken coatings tothe pipe. * Polyken #1027 Pipeline Primer is ideal or machine application to rough, reconditioned or gi-blasted pipe surfaces. It provides a uniformly smooth instant tack surface for Polyken coatings. #1027 should also be sed for all hand brush applications, + Polyken #1029 Pipeline Primer is a non-tammable primer designed for CPT machine aplication, Because o its non-flammable characteristics, itis recommended for areas where extreme safety Precautions are being observed, #1029 is also recommended for hand beush applications where non flammable materials are species or warranted WARNING: Polyken Primers #1019 and #1027 are FLAMMABLE MIXTURES. Itis designed for machine application and delivers excellent conformabiity when applied over seamed, spiral welded or extruded pipe. Because othe high corrosion protection inherent in the Combination of polyethylene fim and buty rubber adhesive, Polyken #980 has a proven in-ground success against both chemical ang electrolytic corrosion. ts protecting pipelines inthe permafrost the Arctic, as wel as the siting ands ofthe desert. Poiyken #980 is avaiable in thicknesses of 15 mis, 18 mis, 20 mls and 25 mis. These four thicknesses make up the #960 series. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES: ‘+ Proven Performance — #380's one othe Polyken tied coatings that have grown up with the pipeline industry ver the past quarter of@ century. tis engineered to meet and surpass the most rigorous requirements of the field. Unparalied Adhesion — the special bly rubber adhesive system on Polyken #980 is unequalled for high adhesive bond to primed stee!. Equally mporant, the adhesive system is laminated tothe polyethylene film backing to assure a totally integrated corrosion protection system ‘Maximum Corrosion Protection — Availabe in a variety of thicknesses to meet the most hostile terrain and Climatic conditions, #980 provides in-ground or above-ground pipelines with optimum electrolytic and moisture resistance. *+ Ease of Application — Polyken #380 provides a unitorm lap, superior bond, and optimum conformabilty under Contralied tension. The results a uniform, reproducible, consistent coating over the entire length of any size pipe. PRODUCT PROPERTIES BACKING: Polyethylene, high/low density. Color Black ADHESIVE: Buty!
