Command asked him to Fight, he was India's
Greatest Military General because he even Won the
Wars which Higher Commands didn't wish to fight"

Higher Command had asked Soldiers to vacate the

Jelep La & Nathu La, Jelep la was vacated & to this
day Jelep La has been illegally Occupied By China !

However, Nathu La was under Sagat Singh & he

refused to vacate it . Sagat Singh went about
fortifying his defenses & prepared his men for
battle

Sagat Singh wanted to surprise the Chinese &

ordered an Artillery attack , Sagat had NO authority
to order an Artillery Attack only Army Commander
could have ordered an Artillery Attack (Army
Commander was in Delhi & couldn't be contacted).
Sagat knew that once the opportunity to startle
Chinese is gone, the war would continue for a long
period . Sagat refused to let the opportunity go & at
great personal risk ordered Artillery Attack !!!

The Chinese were completely taken by surprise &

utterly routed . Chinese were defeated & admitted
to the death of over 400 Chinese soldiers .
