Door Size Calculator for Structural Openings

This document contains two door size calculators. The first calculator determines the required door leaf width based on the structural opening dimensions. The user inputs the structural opening width and height and the calculator outputs the single or paired door leaf widths. The second calculator determines the structural opening dimensions based on the door leaf size and style (single or paired). It requires the user to input the door leaf width and height and outputs the corresponding structural opening width and height. Both calculators account for factors like floor covering thickness and frame dimensions when making the calculations.

¹ Depending on plumness and cleanliness of opening 5-10mm - we generally work to a 7mm gap between the frame a
² Maximum finished gap on fire doors is 10mm (smoke rated doors should not exceed 3mm unless a drop seal is fitted
³ Generally 30mm for MDF and 32mm for Timer frames.
⁴ Some doors may need a larger frame head thickness (e.g. safehinge doors require a 48mm head as standard)
⁵ Perimeter gap is the gap between the frame and the door leaf (and the gap between double doors) - this is 3mm for
