Exercise of introduction to literature

1.Context of situation is the environment by which a text takes different meanings based on the features
that describe language.

-The main features of context are the Participants, the object and the effect and the application.

2.The features of context and situation identified on the poem are;

-Participants-persons.

-Object and effect

Object-Become tired of the game. The effect "We rest".

-Application-"Game and keeper" these expressions are used in the Football.

3. The meaning of the symbol TOY in the poem means "we have someone who care for us, helping us to
grow up untill our death".

Action of swinging in the poem means " the life take turns and changes having starts and ends".

Ticking of watch means " life is short and doesn't last forever".

The symbol GAME in the poem means "to live life, we need to obey some rules that will determine our
results in the future".

The action of letting the watch run down means" we approach times to die, where life ends". We can
also say DEATH.

4.The theme that I could take From the poem is " Life is short, because we don't live for long period of
time"

I developed this theme by analysing pragmatically the sentences and the language that was used in
social context.
