Setting up the Class 1 Master (using ProfiCaptain)
Important:
If you have already have a master
running with a device in Data
Exchange, you can skip to slide 7.
Drag and drop the GSD to any
block in the Network Sheet. Then
double‐click the device.

Enter the parameters needed
for the used PA coupler.
When you’re done,
click ‘OK’ twice.
Then click 'Operate' and close the configuration window. Now ProfiCaptain is active
on the bus and the device should be online. Verify this by looking in the Live List in
ProfiTrace; you should see a master and a green device.
