Installing and Using Photoshop Brushes

INSTALLING A BRUSH SET

1. Unzip the .zip file that you downloaded from


WeGraphics. Look for the file with the .abr extension.
This is the file we’ll be installing.

2. Open Photoshop, and choose the brush tool from


the Tools Panel. Then click the down arrow on the
Brush Preset Picker (Fig 1).

3. A dropdown will appear containing all of the current


brush presets. Click the small cog icon in the upper
right and choose “Load Brushes...” from the menu.

4. Now navigate to and choose the .abr file included


with your download. Click okay. Once the brushes
are loaded they will appear at the bottom of the
Brush Preset Picker.

To use a brush, choose the Brush Tool from the Tools


Panel and open the Brush Preset Picker. Scroll down
to find a brush from the newly installed set. Choose a
brush and size it to the appropriate size for your artwork
document (Fig 3).

Note: You can also size the brush using the [ and ] keys on
the keyboard.

EDIT A BRUSH

To edit a brush, open the Brush panel by click Window |


Brush. From here you can adjust the brush spacing and
size.

You can also adjust the Shape Dynamics, such as Angle


and Size Jitter. Scattering can also be adjusted from this
panel as well as many other custom settings.
