Company History

The Interport Group offers a range of mari�me services and during the last two
decades has successfully established itself as one of the leading companies in the
mari�me services industry in Bangladesh. Interport Group was founded in 2001
as Shipping Agency (Interport Ship Agents Ltd.) to provide P&I and Claim
Correspondent services to the P&I Clubs, Marine Underwriters and Legal Firms
and Port Agency services to the Ship Owners, Ship Management Companies &
Charterers.

The two main sea ports of Bangladesh, Chattogram and Mongla were about to
lose their historic reputa�on as safe and vibrant sea ports due to various
malprac�ces by some local service providers. Shipowners, operators, charterers
and their underwriters were beginning to feel insecure when their vessels were
fixed for the Bangladeshi Ports as the necessary assistance and legal protec�on
was o�en not available.

Both the P&I division and Agency division Interport Ship Agents Ltd being
manned by experienced and professional staff with a track record of integri-
ty and efficiency has contributed to the reversal of the trend by successfully
protecting their clients with their pro-active and innovative services when
ever there was a situation which threatened the smooth operation and sailing
of the vessels.

In the year 2006 the P&I Correspondent division and the Agency division
were officially separated due to increase of work load and currently they op-
erate as two different and independent companies with Interport Maritime
Ltd acting as correspondent for P&I Clubs and underwriters and the Interport
Ship Agents Ltd offers port agency services to ship owners and charterers.
The separation of services with the increase of business in course of time has
improved the quality of services and has also eliminated the possibility of any
conflict of interest.

Interport Mari�me Ltd. (IML) is the P&I Correspondent and marine risk management Firm that has
earned a high reputa�on among its interna�onal clients in Americas , Europe and the Far East. Since
commencing their opera�on in the year 2001, this company has introduced a new outcome focused
style in the marine claims and risk management sector, which is the hallmark of all firms in the
Interport Group. This approach has achieved tremendous apprecia�on from its interna�onal
patrons, mainly Protec�on and Indemnity clubs, ship owners, charterers and H&M underwriters.

P&I Division
In its capacity as a correspondent for a number of the Interna�onal Group P&I Clubs, IML assists
with claims or problems, which may be of concern to the P&I Clubs and their Members. These
include providing assistance to both ship owners and charterers, who may find themselves involved
in P&I claim and /or defense cases.

As the clubs correspondent, IML staff is available 24

hours a day, 365 days a year, to react to any
no�fica�on of a P&I casualty in Bangladesh . Such
casual�es in Bangladesh include everything from
rou�ne containerized cargo claims to major incident
such as collisions and serious oil pollu�on incidents.
In its role as the clubs correspondent, it is the
responsibility of IML to assist and manage an
incident, which may arise at any �me of the day or
night.

Furthermore, IML is able to assist in the

inves�ga�on and handling of claims and it also has
the necessary local and interna�onal knowledge to
arrange expert assistance through the use of
surveyors and lawyers. Claims handling staff at IML
Chattogram come from a variety of backgrounds
including Seafarer, Surveyor, P&I Correspondent
and Lawyers.

Loss Prevention and Survey

IML also has a Loss Preven�on & Survey department whose core ac�vity is concerned
with the inspec�on of ships and cargo both for loss preven�on and for determining the
cause, nature and extent of damage if any following an accident.

Our teams of qualified and experienced marine surveyors, cargo surveyors and claims
processing staff have built life-long rela�onships with both local and interna�onal clients
by providing constant, professional and successful solu�ons to the most complex P&I
insurance cases.

IML’s surveyors care to keep their clients updated and informed throughout their
attendance. On comple�on of their attendance they issue accurate, concise and factual
reports, providing complete and detailed record of their inves�ga�on.

Interport Group acquired Interasia Survey and
Inspec�on Services Ltd. (ISISL) in 2016 which is a
leading provider of Independent, Expert and High-
quality Marine Survey, Inspec�on and Ship Repair
Consultancy Services to the local Marine Industry
with a special focus to cater for the survey
requirements of our clients in the P&I and H&M
sector. We strive to achieve this by our team of
highly competent and mo�vated surveyors having

Port Agency
Interport Ship Agents Ltd (ISAL) is fully licensed
limited liability company operating in
Bangladesh since 2001. ISAL provides an
extensive range of services to ship owners and
operators in both tramp and liner shipping
sectors, as well as ship management
companies and charterers.
ISAL offers a comprehensive range of agency
services, tailor-made for today's liner and
tramp vessels calling at the Bangladeshi ports
of Chattogram and Mongla. These services
cover both ship husbandry and cargo services
involving bulk, containers, RoRo, LPG, break
bulk, project and heavy li� cargoes.
Ship Husbandry
ISAL's services include making visa and travel
arrangements at special rates for joining and
depar�ng crew members. The Agency also
undertakes nego�a�ons with local suppliers to
obtain quality provisions at the most
economical prices. In addi�on, it ensures that
machinery and other deck and engine spares/
stores are accurately delivered on �me.

Obtaining port clearances, liaising with local
immigra�on, customs and police authori�es as
necessary, arranging for medical and dental
visits if required, and adhering to all requests
by the Master are some of the other services
that the Agency provides for its principals.
Liner and Tramp Agency
ISAL's Tramp and Liner agency provides its
services to all ship and cargo owners in the
region. We ensure vessels a fast turnaround
covering bunkering, stores, spares and repairs.
ISAL acts on behalf of ship owners, operators
and charterers representing them during
berthing arrangements and pier reserva�on,
custom clearances, claims and stevedores'
damages, coordina�on of cargo opera�ons in
port, payment of ports dues and handling of all
other requests by crew and passengers. Our
highly-qualified marke�ng teams have well-
established rela�onships in the local and
regional markets ensuring our clients of
consistent and profitable bookings.

ISAL is also working as an Interna�onal air and
ocean Freight Forwarder and NVOCC (Import
and Export) which is registered in Bangladesh
