In Davao Oriental, 241 former rebels received various assistance, i.e., CLIP
assistance, business starter kits, and TESDA completion certificates
on July 11, 2018. Former rebels are also being given psychosocial
intervention and moral recovery assistance in cooperation with the
religious sector. Davao Oriental is the only town in the country with an
operating halfway house for transitioning former rebels - the Happy
Home. This was established through the efforts of the local government
of Davao Oriental, OPAPP, civil society, and the community.
On July 11, 2018, 106 former rebels in Sultan Kudarat, mostly members
of Indigenous People’s communities, were also awarded immediate
and livelihood assistance by the DILG. Sultan Kudarat Governor Pax
Mangudadatu committed to provide further livelihood assistance to
former rebels through the provision of boats or hogs.
On July 12, 2018, 12 former rebels from Sarangani also received their
immediate and livelihood assistance. Sarangani is working on constructing
its own halfway house, funded by the local government and the DILG.

PROJECT STATUS
Construction of Pier 4, Cebu Completed on November 03, 2017 and turned over to the Cebu Port Authority
Baseport port operations for use since December 2017. It accommodates the
domestic containerized cargo from other Visayas and Mindanao ports.
A new Pier 5 project located in Berth 2 of the CIP is projected to start in
2018. Its contract is scheduled to be awarded in July 2018. Targeted to
be completed in 2019, it shall expand the CIP by an additional area of 1.2
hectare, thereby allowing the CIP to have an additional capacity of 4,000
TEUs. The project shall accommodate two (2) additional foreign vessels.
