GROUP-1 Inverted pendulum is a system in which the center of the mass is above the pivot point. Kashan Asghar (47) In mostof the applications problem arises due to the unbalancing of Husnain Siddique (44) mechanism/machinery that can be controlled using some specific sort of mass balancing mechanism. Hence controllers with mmultiple programming languages are designed to achieve balancing and stability through different approaches of control systems. This can be done by using proper feedback system of closed loop systems approach.
GROUP-2 The project is titled as “Mapping and design
of control system for an EMG controlled Muhammad Hariszaman(170501028) hand prosthetic”. MoaazAsghar(170501021) The process would include the EMG signal as input which are then further processed and amplified, the motor control block with processed EMG signals as input, pattern recognition and motion control for the desired preprogrammed motion and possible feed back pressure control system. GROUP-3 “Antenna Azimuth”. An azimuth is an angular measurement in a spherical coordinate system. Hamza Yousaf (37) The purpose of this system is to have the azimuth angle output of the antenna. The input command Osama Younas (24) is an angular displacement. The potentiometer converts the angular displacement into a voltage. Similarly, the output angular displacement is converted to a voltage by the potentiometer in the feedback path.
GROUP-4 “Central Heating System” are used to
maintain the temperature of a building, Mohammad Hamza (02) offices etc. Tge purpose of the project is to design a central heating system to maintain constant temperature of a building without oscillation in temperature.
GROUP-5 “ball balancing instrument”Ball Balancing
beam, with its easily accessible and user- Muaz Adnan (22) friendly components, closing the gap between real industrial systems and DIY- Ausaf Tahir (09) approach. Open source software makes it possible that it can bedeveloped and modified through algorithms. It can be used to understand the effects of different controller types on the system and easily cover controller design concepts with control system experiments. The main objective is to study the instrument and design its input and output for its proper functioning.
GROUP-6 Analysis of semi-active vehicle suspension
system using airspring and MR damper. Shehroze Malik (36) With the new advancements in vibration control strategies and controllable actuator Saim Ali (11) manufacturing, semi-active actuators and dampers are finding their way as an essential part of vibration isolators, particularly in vehicle suspension systems. This is attributed to the fact that in a semi-active system, the damping coefficients can be adjusted to improve ride comfort and road handling performances. The currently available semi- active damper technology uses MR fluid to control the damping characteristics of the suspension system. In addition to MR dampers, combining air springs in a semi- active suspension system leads to better handling and ride performance in vehicles. GROUP-7 “Potato cutter using quick return mechanism ”. This device the automatic potato cutting machine Husnain Ahmed Zahid (29) has been developed to later the needs of small home/hotel application, which are normally Ameer Hamza (34) man powered. In most of the house/hotel the potatoes are cutting by using human hand. So to overcome these problems this machine has been developed. This adopts centrifugal principle. It works when force is applied on the handle then with the help of sliding link it pushes the part towards blades to cut it. This machine will be made automatic using quick return mechanism i.e the sliding link will move on the basis of quick return mechanism. It will automatically move forward pushing the part and then return to its initial position automatically.
GROUP-8 The aim is to design a DC motor in MATLAB
Simulink and then doing its simulation under Faizan Asif (03) different load conditions. Qaim Abbas Raza (13) GROUP-9 Design of a control system to perform required pressure heating on fibre Muhammad Arsal Naeem (40) composites using a hydraulic hot Asad Sajjad (39) press. The temperature of heating Muhammad Abdullah (46) element is to be maintained at a fixed point while the pressure is to be increased periodically till the calculated value is reached. GROUP-10 Setting up longitudinal state space model of an aircraft learjet-24 and analyzing Atif Arif(06) longitudinal control system to meet certain requirements of damping ratio, natural frequency etc. in longitudinal control as longitudinal control system is related to pitching up and pitching down of an aircraft by an elevator. A better system ensures its longitudinal motion meets certain requirements of particular flight phase. First of all longitudinal state space model will be set up using literature and particular matrices for control system in this case then control sytem will be designed either using MATLAB commands or SIMULINK. GROUP-11 “Analysis of and Design of Control system for Inverted Pendulum” (Proposal already Husnain Zeb Tanoli (15) submitted in Uni) Muhammad Shoaib Imtiaz (17) It is practically impossible for the pendulum Muhammad Jawad Khalid (41) to balance in the inverted position without applying an external force to the system and the center of the mass is above the pivot point. The inverted pendulum is a control problem, which involves the development of balance the pendulum system. The objective is to design a control mechanical system for inverted pendulum. Following are the objectives of project: 1. Design a system for the inverted pendulum implementation. 2. Mathematical Modelling of the System using Control system concepts studied in course. 3. Root Locus Analysis of the System 4. Simulation using MATLAB Simulink 5. Studying PID Controller to control the system.
