First of all.

To see who is Slavic, who Germanic, who anything else we need to see
what genetics say. Pattern that repeat in all Slavic countries is significant
presence of R1a and I2 y-chromosome haplogroup in population - Southern Slavs have
more percent of I2 than R1a and all other Slavs more R1a than I2. Although R1a is
called "Slavic (or Eastern Europe)" and I2 "Dinaric" we actually should say that
"SLAVIC" is those groups which have combination or emerging of these two
haplogroups in significant percent. Other relevant haplogroups (for this subject)
in Europe are: R1b (Celtic or Western Europe), I1 (Nordic) and N (originate in East
Asia from where it spread in North and Northwest Asia, Northeast Europe and in
America). Germanic would be mixture of Celtic R1b, Nordic I1 and Eastern Europe R1a
(in a ratio R1b:Ra1:I1=half:quarter:quarter) since that is a pattern that repeats
in Germanic countries. Considered in this way, Scandic would be emerging of I1, R1b
and R1a but in ratio I1(1/3):R1b(1/4 to 1/3):R1a(around 1/4). Now, lets see percent
in mentioned countries in this comment and replays to it from North to South.
FINLAND: N - 61.5%; I1 - 28%; R1a - 5%; R1b - 3.5%; I2 - 0%. We can say definitely
NON Slavic, NON Germanic, NOT even that much Nordic only less than 1/3 - IT'S
almost 2/3 ASIATIC. ESTONIA: N- 34%; R1a - 32%; I1 - 15%; R1b - 8%; I2 - 3%.
Interesting combination. Slavic (R1a+I2) 35%. That's almost same as Asiatic's (N)
34%. And there is significant percent of Nordic (I1). We can say it's 1/3 ASIATIC,
1/3 SLAVIC and 1/3 everything else (which is mostly Nordic) but let’s sey SCANDIC.
LATVIA: R1a - 40%; N - 38%; R1b - 12%; I1 - 6%; I2: 1%. So, almost half SLAVIC and
almost half ASIATIC with significant percent of SCANDIC (Nordic I1 + Western R1b).
LITHUANIA: N - 42%, R1a - 38%; I1 - 6%; I2 - 6%; R1b - 5%. Again, half SLAVIC, half
ASIATIC, with 1/10 of SCANDIC. HUNGARY: R1a - 29.5%; R1b - 18.5%; I2 - 16%; I1:
8.5; N (and any other Asian except Semitic): 0.5%. Believe or not, it's NOT ASIAN
and it has NOTHING with FINNS (or Huns, Mongols etc). It is basically SLAVIC
country since it has almost half of it's population with Slavic (R1a+I2) genome
plus less than 1/5 Germanic. It does has 8.5% of Nordic, but in this case we can't
say that I1 and R1b came together emerged as Scandic considering it's position in
Europe and known history. So that R1b is probably came from Celtic people, while I1
although is consider as Nordic, it (together with I2) is native to Europe even
before end of Ice Age, and even before arrival of R1a and R1b to Europe. And I1 and
I2 both came from I haplogroup which originate in Europe. So or I1 was in Hungary
from very beginnings of Europe or it came with some Germanic tribes. And last but
not least, ROMANIA: I2 – 28%; R1a – 18%; R1b: 15.5%, I1 – 3.5%; N – 1.5%. Half
SLAVIC, 1/5 GERMANIC and let’s add here combo of Semitic J1 and North African E1b1b
(in Romania J1 - 13.5; E1b1b – 14%), which in that ratio 1:1 is what is legacy of
Greeks and Romans (since in Italy and Greece that’s the ratio and approximate
percent of those two haplogroups). However we must keep in mind that although E1b1b
and J1, don’t originate in Europe, they are among first few groups who came on
South Europe populated by I2, G and R1a.
