Self shielded flux cored wires

BÖHLER Pipeshield 71 T8-FD and BÖHLER Pipeshield 81 T8-FD

BÖHLER Pipeshield self shielded flux cored wires are especially developed for semi-automatic vertical down welding of pipelines.
They are also suitable for the welding of unalloyed steel constructions. Both wires offer a fast freezing, easy removable slag and
excellent welding characteristics. Welders value the easy handling and the high productivity of our flux cored wire.

BÖHLER Pipeshield wires are designed to offer both good mechanical properties and high impact toughness at low temperatures.
The outstanding benefits are especially accessible in the vertical down position for (hot pass) filler and cap layers. Due to the basic
filling the interpass temperature can be arranged similar to that of basic electrodes, we recommend 80 – 200 °C.

BÖHLER self shielded flux cored wires provides an easy handling for the welder due to a very tolerant stick out length and less
tendency to porosity, also when welding with a longer arc length as a result of higher voltage.

Pipeline welding with

In general self shielded flux cored wires are not usable for Variant B:

to use BÖHLER FOX CEL for root pass welding with cove-

red electrodes, BÖHLER SG 3 P or BÖHLER NiMo 1-IG

when solid wires are used.
