MARY’S ROUTINES
Hi, my name is Mary and I’m going to tell you about my routines. On weekdays I
get up at half past six and I have breakfast with my friends and my younger brother
Paul. I like cereals but they prefer bread and eggs. My friends always drink coffee
and I love tea. My brother Paul and me usually go to study at the university in the
morning. We often go by taxi when we are late but a friend’s mother takes us to the
university on Tuesday and Friday. My brother goes to work by bus every night, he
is a waiter and he works at a famous Chinese restaurant but I don’t go eating there
because it is really expensive, and the food is not tasty at all. My father and my
mother live in another city far away from here, so we don’t spend time with them
but we usually go to Chicago to visit them on holiday. My mother is a business
woman and she works for an important Japanese enterprise and my father is a
police officer and he is not at home at night.

Me and my friends have lunch at a small cafeteria next to the university. We love to
live in San Francisco but in the afternoons we are not together because we have
different courses: I sing in the choir and play volleyball; my friends do karate and
my brother goes to a French class and he also plays videogames but he does it
only after class.
After school we go to a park across from the university. It is on third avenue near a
shopping center where we usually go on Wednesday. Then, we go home at 6 pm
because we are all always tired. Luckily, we live together and we don’t feel alone.
At home, I clean the rooms and my brother washes the dishes. My friends prefer to
cook. We watch TV, play board games and talk about our day in the evening. My
brother and I go to bed at nine pm but our friends go to sleep later.

On weekends we sometimes get up later, around 10 o'clock. We clean our rooms

and my brother cooks and washes the dishes on Saturday and I do it on Sundays.
In the evenings we watch TV series on Netflix and we often go to the Movie theater
with my friends, but my brother never goes because he prefers to play video
games. My routine this week is being a little bit different because I’m reading a new
book about arts and I’m really interested in contemporary art and photography and
I’m having Japanese classes at night and listening to a new band from Kyoto. I’m
having fun lately and I think is great!
