THE STATE government on
Tuesday can1e up with a new set
of directives allowing shops to
ren1ain open for an additional
two hours, till 7 pn1, starting
Thursday.
As part of Phase II of the
'Mission Begin Again' initiative,
the govetnment had allowed all
non-essential shops to open
from 9 atn to 5 pm.
The new order stated that
shops in the municipal corpora-
tion areas of Mun1bai
Metropolitan Region, Pune,
Solapuc Aurangabad, Malegaon,
Nashik, Dhule, ]algaon, Akola,
An1ravati and Nagpur will be
pen11itted to operate fron19 an1
to 7 pn1.
While the shops can stay
open on all seven days of the
week, they will function on an
odd-even basis with shops on
one side of the road, lane or pas-
sage, to operate on odd dates
while those on the other side to
open on even dates.
Meanwhile, in other regions
of the state, shops can operate for
an extended two-hour period
but do not have to adhere to the
odd-even plan.
The state has claimed that
the additional relaxations will
help the administration achieve
the object of controlling crowd-
ing in markets.

In continuation to the Order No. DMU-2020/C.R.92/0MU- I, dated 3 1" May 2020 (extended
by order dated 29'" June 2020) the State Government and in exercise of the powers, conferred under
the Disaster Management Act, 2005 the undersigned, in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive
Committee, hereby issues orders to amend am/ clarify the following in these revised guidelines Order
dated 3 Ist May, 2020 (extended by order dated 29'" June 2020) after careful consideration of planning
of containment areas and availability of health infrastructure, for the strict implementation by the
concerned authorities of all the departments in the State of Maharashtra:

I) Municipal Corporations of MMR Region including MCGM, Municipal Corporations of Pune,

Solapttr, Aurangabad, Malegaon, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur: In
Clause 6, after Mission Begin Agai n Phase IV following will be added:

Mission Begin Again Phase V

ii ) In Mission Again Phase II , markets etc. were opened and nonessential shops were allowed
to function on PI-P2 basis from 9am to Spm.

Now in furthe r relaxation with an objective to control/reduce crowding, the

mm-kets/shops will be permitted to open for 2 additional hours and ca~
function fron:k9am to 7pm. Other conditions/restrictions remain the same. Th1s
will come intu··effectfrom 9'" July 2020.

It is further clarified that markets should be permit~ed to open on all 7 days of

the week however shops wi ll function on P l-P2 basts.
