NARRATIVE #1

The group was given the task to film about five different topics. Namely, The Site
of the First Mass, The Cry of Balintawak, The Cavite Mutiny, The Making of the
Philippine National Flag and the assassination of Antonio Luna. When the group met for
the first time, we first talked about data gathering and arrangement so that it would be
easier to plan the content of the film we would create. During the previous week, we
focused on researching the facts about our topic. Since we were given five topics, we
divided the task by pair and a group of three with two topics: The Site of the First Mass
and The Assassination of Antonio Luna was to be researched by Julius Caesar Benhera,
Jade Marlowe Hidalgo and Nicko Coñales. The Cry of Balintawak was assigned to:
Francis Lawas and Rhea Dela Torre. The Cavite Mutiny was in care of Vahia Raliza
Dotarot and Danielle Hallasgo and The Making of National Flag was done by Chryselle
Lopez and Jan Pudot Manalo. Throughout the compilation, we have arranged these
events according to the year it took place. We tried to create a rough of the films
narration and the flow of the script. But what challenged us the most is how and where to
record the film that would resonate with the ambience and atmosphere of its occurrence
throughout Spanish colonization. This week we are planning to start making a portion of
the script and scouted some possible places where we can dramatize our play. Some
possible areas could be on Capitol Grounds where timing is the most important where
there are only few people there. Another area is the Folkarts which suits most of our play.
Some of it may be on Sumpong and some part of San Isidro College. Some of our greater
concerns are our costumes and props which would certainly cost a huge amount of
money. As we went through the draft, we discovered that there was a need to change
props and settings a lot. We will try to start putting together our props and costumes, look
for where we can borrow or rent to minimize the expense. The overall situation of our
play is good despite difficulties that we have encountered. It may not be completed
without the helping hand of our co-members. Our group had really lots of fun and
excitement knowing are the authors and producers of our own film.
