4. FIRST AID MEASURES


Contact with skin:
Immediately take off all contaminated clothing.
Areas of the body that have - or are only even suspected of having - come into contact with the product must be
rinsed immediately with plenty of running water and possibly with soap.
Contact with eyes:
Do not use eyewash or ointment of any kind (before obtaining an examination or advice from an eye specialist).
Wash immediately with water for at least 10 minutes.
Swallowing:
Do not under any circumstances induce vomiting. OBTAIN A MEDICAL EXAMINATION IMMEDIATELY.
Give liquid paraffin to drink; do not give milk or animal or vegetable fats of any kind.
Inhalation:
Ventilate the premises. The patient is to be removed immediately from the contaminated premises to rest in a well
ventilated area. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Recommended extinguishers:
In case of fire, use... (indicate in the space the precise type of fire-fighting equipment.If water increases risk, add -
'Never use water')
Extinguishers not to be used:
None in particular.
Risks arising from combustion:
Avoid inhaling the fumes.
Protective equipment:
Use protection for the respiratory tract.
Cool the containers exposed to the fire with water.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES


Measures for personal safety:
Use a mask, gloves and protective clothing.
Environmental measures:
Limit leakages with earth or sand.
Eliminate all unguarded flames and possible sources of ignition. Do not smoke.
If the product has escaped into a water course, into the drainage system, or has contaminated the ground or
vegetation, notify the competent authorities.
Cleaning methods:
Rapidly recover the product. To do so, wear a mask and protective clothing.
If the product is in a liquid form, stop it from entering the drainage system.
Recover the product for re-use if possible, or for elimination. The product might, where appropriate, be absorbed by
inert material.
After the product has been recovered, rinse the area and materials involved with water.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE


Handling precautions:
Avoid contact and inhalation of the vapours. See, too, paragraph 8 below.
Do not eat or drink while working.
Do not smoke while working.
Incompatible materials:
None in particular.
Storage conditions:
Always keep the containers tightly closed.
Always keep in a well ventilated place.
Keep away from unguarded flame, sparks, and heat sources. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
Instructions as regards storage premises:
Cool and adequately ventilated.

Precautionary measures:
Give adequate ventilation to the premises where the product is stored and/or handled.

Use respiratory protection where ventilation is insufficient or exposure is prolonged, e.g. CEN/FFP-2(S) or CEN/FFP-

Set out below is the toxicological information relating to the main substances in the preparation.

Tossicità acuta:DL50 tossicità orale > 5000 mg/kg (ratto)
CL50 inalazione/4 ore/ratto 39615 ppm (13,9 mg/l)
Nell'uomo la tossicità acuta è molto bassa, e solo esposizioni ad alteconcentrazioni possono esercitare un effetto
depressivo sul sistema nervoso centrale con vertigini,nausea e perdita di conoscenza.Negli animali alla dose letale,si
notano imponente diarrea,danno vascolare, e gravi danni a carico di fegatoe reni;i vapori,ad alte
concentrazioni,inducevano irritazione di occhi,cute e tratto respiratorio.
Ingestione:quantità anche piccole introdotte nei polmoni per l'ingestione o il vomito possono provocare
broncopèolmonite chimica e edema polmonare.
Contatto con la pelle: praticamente non nocivo,nessuna mortalità riscontrata su coniglio a 2000 mg/kg.Può causare
dermatiti a contatti prolungati.
Contatto con gli occhi:leggermente irritante (coniglio)
Sensibilizzazione:non sensibilizzante cutaneo
Tossicità cronica:dagli studi per inalazione prolungata sull'animale non hanno messo in evidenza effet.

nervoso centrale.Contatto con la pelle: Irritante.Moderato indice di tossicità sistemica per assorbimento cutaneo.
Contatto con gli occhi: Causerà disagio agli occhi, ma non danneggerà il tessuto oculare.Ingestione:quantità di
liquido anche piccole introdotte nel sistema respiratorio durante l'ingestione o peri il vomito possono provocare
broncopolmonite o edema polmonare.

Contatto con la pelle: Basso indice di tossicità contatti frequenti o prolungati possono sgrassare e seccare la
pelle,favorendo disagio e dermatiti.
Contatto con gli occhi:causerà disagio per gli occhi,ma non danneggerà il tessuto oculare.
Ingestione:quantità di liquido anche piccole introdotte nel sistema respiratorio durante l'ingestione o per il vomito
possono provocare broncopolmonite o edema polmonare.Basso indice di tossicità.

sono di seguito riportate le informazioni tossicologiche riguardanti le principali sostanze nel preparato:
1-metossi-2-propil acetato
Tossicità acuta:basso grado di tossicità acuta. LD50= orale ratto> 5155 mg/kg
LCLO ratto =4345 ppm 6h
LD50 cutanea coniglio > 2000 mg/kg
Potere irritante occhi: L'irritazione oculare è stata testata con il metodo 405 dell' OECD.
L'applicazione oculare singola nel coniglio ha causato irritazione congiuntivale e lesioni corneali
transitorie(punteggiatura/lesioni epiteliari minori).
Potere irritante pelle:l'irritazione cutanea è stata esaminata come prescritto dal metodo 404 dall'OECD.L'applicazione
singola semi-occlusiva,di 4 ore,sulla pelle intatta di coniglio,ha provocato segni minimi di irritazione(punteggio medio
di eritema o edema inferiore a 2).Il grado di irritazione era insufficiente per poter classificare il prodotto come irritante
per la pelle.

L'irritazione ochulare è stata testata con il metodo 405 dellOECD,l'applicazione oculare singola nel coniglio ha
causato irritazione congiuntivale e lesioni corneali transitorie
Potere irritante cute:Sul coniglio nessun segno di irritazione dermica.
Tossicità sub-acuta/subcronica:
l'esposizione dei topi a 4300 ppm per 6 ore per 7 gg ha indotto alterazioni ematiche minori e perdita di appetito.I
conigli esposti a 4400 ppm per 1 ora al giorno per 40 gg hanno sviluppato anemia secondaria,effetti ematici minori e
splenomegalia.
Tossicità cronica/cancerogenicità:
Nessuna evidenza di cancerogenicità nelle seguenti specie: topi.
Genotossicità:complessivamente,non è stata osservata sostanziale attività mutagena.
