What are Smart Gloves?

• An assistive technology device which allows the deaf


to talk with people who don’t know sign language.
• They are thin, Bluetooth enables gloves that can be
worn on their own or under another pair of gloves
How do they work?

Smart Gloves use sensors in the fingers and


thumb to translate the user's movements to a
smart device for further interpretation.
Uses for Smart Gloves?
• Virtual reality software that requires greater accuracy
• Engineers in the fields of robotics, the biomedical industry, and
augmented reality platforms
• Easy access to smart phone functions
• Can be used by the deaf to communicate via sign language to
people who don’t understand signing by converting it into speech.
• Can be used to help rehabilitate stroke patients
