REPORT
OVERVIEW
The following report presents a summary of the data collection conducted by Ximena Ponce
at the company AgroPartners located at Departamento de Santa Cruz, Bolivia, during the
period between 28/11/2019 and 03/05/2020.
The guidelines used by the analyst (1) were developed by the MIT GeneSys research group
as part of the research conducted on Supply Chain Management for small firms in
developing countries. The MIT GeneSys methodology (2) incorporates five dimensions:
Company Profile, Business Practices, Supply Chain Management Practices, Lean Practices,
and Behavioral Operations. Visit http://genesys.mit.edu to learn more about it.
The report first provides a set of recommendations that was built applying the MIT GeneSys
Priorities Framework (3). Later, it presents the level of adoption of Business and Supply
Chain Management Practices, and the time breakdown for the Behavioral Operations
Section of the data collection. Finally, you can find your answers in the last section of the
report.
Please note that the data used to build this report relies on the expertise of the analyst and
the accuracy of the information provided by the decision maker (4). Further analysis might
be required to improve the quality of the recommendations.

General recommendations
The GeneSys Priorities Framework
Below you can find a list of recommendations for your company in terms of your business
and supply chain practices. The list includes the top 10 best practices that are tailored for
the context and expertise of your company. The recommendations have been selected by
taking into account the data the local analysts collected, and based on the MIT Genesys
Priorities Framework (3).
1. Knowing how much cash the business has on hand at any point in time via the use of
the records.
4. Knowing from at least one former customer the reasons of why they have stopped
buying from the business.
5. Keeping records of the supplier's lack of compliance with lead time or quality.
8. Ask a supplier about the products that are selling well in this business' industry.
9. Determine the minimum inventory level needed for supplies and finished goods.

1. Business Practices
The level of adoption of business practices is measured by considering key activities in four
different areas:
Replenishment and Inventory Policies refers to activities that provide visibility and control
over the company's inventory.
Cost Control and Bookkeeping covers activities related to the ability to keep records of
business transactions and track expenditures.
Marketing and Sales incorporates activities involving sales and advertisement of products
or services and understanding competitors.

3. Behavioral Operations
This section presents an overview of how the decision maker manages time. This
information is intended to highlight the functional areas in which the manager spends most
of the time.
By combining this information with the results from the previous sections, analysts can
identify which functional area - and which activity within each functional area - provide the
most value for the company.
