Why normalization of ties between India and Pakistan

seems difficult
Normalization of ties between India and Pakistan seems difficult rather it would
be correct to say that they are edging closer to war in 2020. This is not an
optimistic neither a pessimistic opinion, but a realistic attitude based upon the
factors in play these days.
This bitterness in Indo-Pak relations doesn’t date back one or two years rather it
seems that India and Pakistan have been inoculated against friendship since
infancy. However, the cause of current heightened tensions stemmed from a
suicide car bombing in Pulwama that killed more than three dozen Indian security
forces, the deadliest such attack in three decades.
This triggered a chain of events that brought India and Pakistan on the brink of
war. This leads to massive economical losses on both sides especially to Pakistan
due to closure of Pakistan’s airspace and cancellation of all commercial and
transit flights. This tense air from February 14 attack also made its way to sports
with the coverage of PSL 2019 being blocked in India.
Even the release of Indian air force pilot as a peace gesture by Pakistan could not
maintain healthy relations for long and Kashmir issue again deteriorated the
situation, when India revoked the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir and declared
it a new territory of India. This move amounted to serious provocation,
suspending trade with New-Dehli from Islamabad.
Now looking away from the dolorous towards a very dim but slightly brighter side,
the things that can improve this relation may start from easing the suspended
trade ties, improving people to people contact, which we need more than ever,
and democratically resolving the Kashmir issue.
That being said, the implementation of these points is very less likely. As at the
beginning of my argument I mentioned that this bitterness doesn’t date back one
or two years. It is the burden of the past, deep-rooted from partition, that
continues to oppress present and is darkening the future.
To conclude I will say the hostile relations between India and Pakistan are
onerous to overcome, as their hostility even remains immune to the novice
coronavirus pandemic.
