He is an integral part of our social studies team, which serves over 350 students in an urban, low-SES setting. Justin is currently responsible for teaching four sections of tenth grade, college-prep world history. He also observes one of my eleventh-grade American history courses and hes substitute taught for me on multiple occasions. Based on our conversations and my observation of his work, Justin has excelled at developing rigorous, CCSS-based units and lesson plans. They are grounded on his knowledge of the content, the skills he has learned in the credential program, and through his teaching. He successfully demonstrated his awareness of different learning styles and adequately adjusted assignments to meet the varied needs of all students, including ELLs. ! was the most impressed by the variety of the assignments and activities he developed, which ranged from simulations to hands-on projects. He knows how to monitor students’ development of historical thinking skills and content knowledge by implementing both informal and formal assessments. Mr. Fletcher has @ great rapport with the students he works with. He possesses @ positive and very enthusiastic personality that makes students fee! comfortable, Justin is approachable and genuine, which are qualities that I believe are a key part of his success. Students relate to him because he is very familiar with the popular cultural trends of today's youth, He was never embarrassed to participate in our school’s spirit weeks and the students appreciated that. In addition, they admire and respect his firm, fair, and consistent approach to classroom management. Justin’s professionalism is always on display. He is well dressed, articulate, and always on time and ready with a smile and a kind word. He always goes out of his way to acknowledge all staff members and as a result he built @ positive working relationship with each staff member, as well as with our administrative team. 1am confident that Mr. Fletcher will be an asset to any school.
