Montreal Metro

Since the onset of the 20th century, the man has been searching any different kinds to mobility.
The people used to use the train to transport between cities or between countries, because it
was faster than other machines. Any years later, he built the train inside the cities. On October
1966 the Montreal subway was opened. The Montreal metro is the second Canadian subway
system after Toronto’s. In the second intercultural project I will talk about of two Montreal’s
metro topics such as characteristics and capacity.

Montreal is the second most populous city in Canada and the principal city of Quebec, and the
Montreal subway is part of a larger public transportation, including buses and streetcars. The
Montreal subway was built entirely underground because the climate is the coldest. The
Montreal metro has sixty-eight stations and it has four lines running around 71 km and it was
the first subway in North America to run on rubber tires instead of metal wheels. This subway is
the most noiseless in the world.

The velocity is other special capacity of this subway system. It has been designed with 759
numbers of vehicles and the Montreal subway has carried almost 1.367 million trips for day, it
is the same to 383 million passengers for each year. The average speed is around 40 kph and
full speed of 72 kpm, it’s really the fastest!

Finally, the Montreal subway is a benchmark for any countries, specially Bogotá-Colombia,
because it can help out the mobility and develop in this city. Bogotá must search different
options and it has got to build an underground subway. The underground subway is the most
efficient subway system. Actually, everyone needs a possible solution of mobility. Should we
dream with this? It’s a great option, isn’t it?
