Sail Excursions Cruise Line now offers underwater explorations using advanced
submarine technology

(ATLANTA, GA, June 22, 2016)- The innovative global cruise line Sail
Excursions, debuts its first cruise featuring a one-of-its-kind submarine excursion on July
30th. The cruise itinerary includes stops in St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. The
Sea Aphrodite cruise ship will be the first Sail Excursions cruise ship to include a
submarine tour. The submarine will be able to explore up to 200 feet deep and carry up to
24 guests each trip.
This Sea Aphrodite may be the first to feature a submarine, but it won’t be the
last. The submarines will gradually be introduced to include the rest of the company’s
cruise fleet within the next two years. Reservations can only be made before the trip, with
the cost being $600 per person for an hour and a half to explore.
Sail Excursions CEO Mara Johnson says, “This exploration is a once-in-a-lifetime
experience for most of our guests. The submarine always maintains normal atmospheric
conditions when ascending and descending so that any of our guests can participate.” The
development of the submarine vessel underwent about 1,000 tests before being approved
by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
Safety features on the submarine include alerts about the stabilization when
launching and recovering, live tracking of the vessel using a GPS from the host cruise
ship, emergency power, and a knowledgeable crew to guide the way. This submarine
vessel also slowly detaches and attaches back to the main cruise ship underbelly.
