Sonicwave radio resource management supports the following features:

 Global dynamic channel selection

 Dcs scheme mode setting
 AP/Station connectivity quality visualization and control
 Mini data rate control
Global dcs can help customer manage the AP’s channel. In complicated wireless
environment, customer may be hard to set proper channel for many Aps. Suppose
customer set the proper channel, but the wireless environment may change, and then
the previous channel setting may be not proper. With help of global dcs, customer
can get proper channel at any time.
Taking knowledge of some AP can’t switch channel frequently, because some old
station may not follow AP’s channel switch, we open three dcs scheme modes.
 Safe mode, switch to better channel only without client connected
 Steady mode, switch to new channel whenever find the better channel.
 Swift mode, switch to better channel as soon as interference is high on
current channel.
To help customer observe the network status, we show the AP and Station’s real-time
quality on GUI. So customer may find out which radio become worse and which station
works bad. Customer can enable the feature, and the AP can take some action to
recover from the bad status.
In high density deployment environment, station may associate with a far AP,
because the SNR is adequate for minimum data rate. So, we can increase the minimum
data rate, station need higher SNR to keep associated to this far AP. If the
station can’t get the higher SNR, he has to try to associate with the AP closer to
him.
