Jack Welch

1. Jack Welch got his people’s decisions right as he would involve himself in hiring decisions that
global CEOs would assign to their subordinates. He kept also kept a score on anyone involved
in bringing on or promoting employees based on their successes and failures – batting average.
2. He wanted his people to speak with frankness; being honest and open in their behavior as it
would enhance the ability to act smart, fast and people contributing all the ideas. Jack
emphasized on values as well used methods to check on their ability to perform. He would let
them know about it and, if they didn’t improve, he would let them go.
Jack was keen on learning and wanted to grasp as much information from everyone he met. He
was always curious to learn and enhance his knowledge.
