Journal Week Three

Week: 5/26-5/30

Monday 5/26 (Memorial Day: No Work Today)

Tuesday 5/27 (11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 hours

           I started today by putting together a list of bookstores that I need to call and finalizing the

books that have known digital platforms. I then when to our weekly meeting where we discussed

the “I wish I would have known” project. We talk through a list of ideas and brainstormed

potential topic of discussion; this was fun because the topic started in my one on one meeting.

This meant I was able to lead the conversation and talk about the things I wanted to see. It was

also decided that I would create the form that we would use to send to the student. I also after

talking with one of the other workers she told me about site good reads. Good Reads is a site

where you can rate books, but you can also make shelves! This is going to make my life so much

easier because I will just be able to add the books to the shelf and send the link out when it's

done. Also, I was able to track down some more books that had an Asian protagonist, so I’m

halfway done with my Booklist.

Wednesday 5/28 (11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 Hours

I got started on the promotional material and the form today. It took me a while to figure out how

to create the form and I got pretty frustrated. It would not let me add some of the questions I

wanted and then when I would test it out the setting that I put to collect the data was a bit off. So,

I played with it for a while and eventually figured it out. I then when on to create some

promotional material through Canvas. It was fun, but I was not sure how much material to put on

there and I wanted to make sure that the theme was representative of GCSU. I was also able to

talk with another intern about her project and we went back and forth with ideas.
Thursday 5/29 (11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 Hours

I sent today making more promotional material (Flyers) I want to be able to have a choice of

which one to use. I think it is important to have options also we don’t have a due date yet so I

want to get a bunch done really quickly because I don’t know when they need it by. Also, I

started working on another list of LGBTQ books that could be used in the 30 days of pride

project potential. I plan to ask if this could be used in the next meeting. I was also able to start

looking into other College women centers so I can see which one would be best to contact first.

Friday 5/30 (11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 Hours

Today was spent finishing the promotional material that I started yesterday. I also was

able to add more books to the LGBTQ book list. I’m doing this because one of the events of 30-

day pride is to add an LGBTQ centered book to your list of books to read. I want people to see a

ready-made list of books they could choose from. I also called some of the book stores to see if

they would be willing to send me some of the lists they have curated. Many of the places were

closed so I’m going to call again on Monday.
