Week of: 7/6- 7/10

Monday: 7/6/2020; 11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 Hours

Yesterday ended the “I wish I would have known” form part of the project, and now I

have moved on to collecting and organizing the responses. I am really happy with the amount of

responses I got and the content within them. Our students gave some really good advice, I was

impressed. I also had a one on one meeting with Dr. Graham today and it was amazing. We

talked through the next part of the “I wish” project and what she wants to do with the finished

project. Plus, I was able to talk to her about the potential direction for the different material that I

found for the health initiative. I have been watching and listing to a lot of podcast and

documentary that talk about sexual health and assault. I want to start a program were student can

get together and talk about these issues and the documentary and podcast could be the starting

point for these types of conversations.

Today was our weekly meeting and I got to tell the rest of the team what me and Dr.

Graham talked about yesterday. They were able to give me some more media source to look at

and add to my running list. I also uploaded that list to our group Trello. I was nice to hear

feedback and get suggestion. Plus, we were able to get everyone to work on our “survival guide”.

This is basically a list of places in Milledgeville at all first-year students could use, like doctor

offices that are LGBTQ friendly, places to get your hair cut, where student can go get birth

control, and things like that. This list would have been super helpful my freshman year, and were

think of making like a first-year packet of thing that would be useful to students

Today was a good day I was able to filter through the suggestion that I was given on

Tuesday and apply the ones I liked to my list. I also started transcribing and breaking up the

responses I got from the “I wish” forum based on themes. I’m doing this because I don’t want to

put too much advice form one category/theme. Its been really nice reading all of the responses

and seeing the type of advice students are giving. A lot of it is talking about class and balancing

life and school but other students are digging down deep and talking about the best way student

can protect themselves. Plus it’s not just physical protection there talking about, there giving

advice about protecting your mental health and the health of relationship with friends and

significant others.

I spent to most of today working on my reflection paper and working on the script for my

video presentation. It been going pretty good, but I want to make sure that everything come out

the way I want it so I’m writing everything down first. I also worked on the “Survival guide”

I’ve been looking at different doctors’ offices and seeing how far away they are and the reviews.

It been going pretty good so far.

Friday 7/10/2020; 11 am - 2 pm (3); 4 pm - 6 pm (2)) 5 Hours

Today I finished working through the responses. I split them into the different categories

and in going to start making some test list to see which format we like the best. I’ll be presenting

the list at Tuesday weekly meeting. Getting through the list seen to take forever but I was worth

it, some of the larger response I broke up into different categories because a lot of the student

responses could fit in multiple categories. I just happy to be done with this part.
