Intern Lesson Plan

All FSU Music Education Interns are required to keep lesson plans for each class
they teach on a regular basis. All lesson plans should be kept in an Intern Folder
and presented to your Area Coordinator and University Supervisor each time you
are observed for evaluation.

Instructions: Complete each item below for each class you are teaching on a
regular basis during your internship experience.

Teacher Behaviors:
Positivity, Confidence, Energetic

Instructional/Rehearsal Objectives:
- Have the entire class start and end each warm up together
- Keep every student on task (Classroom Management)
- Address any issues behaviorally or musically immediately
- Model warm ups on instrument
- Make sure every student is playing correct notes
- AIR
- Good posture
- Get through pass offs w/ the entire class
- Maintaining a consistent tempo
- Keep the energy going

Materials Needed:
Warm up packet, scales sheet, Standard of excellence book 1

Procedure:
Start the class off with the beginner’s warm up packet. The idea is to
keep a consistent rhythm going in terms of time in between warm ups
so that the class does not get off task. During the warm up I will make
sure to move around the room and help anyone who is having an
issue. During the scales, I will make sure to go at a slow and
consistent tempo so that everyone can play the correct notes.
Evaluation:

My main goal today is to have each class play with a solid tone, keep a
consistent tempo and practice good posture/instrument technique. I
would like to keep everybody on task and continue to work on
behavior management as needed. I will make a concerted effort to
speak confidently at all times
