Hazard Analysis Tool
Instructions: Complete the JLA for the task to be conducted per the scope of the permit and work plan. Identify each individual
job step, the hazards present with each step, and then identify the safeguards to eliminate or mitigate each of the hazards.
Use the common safeguards list to help identify safeguards for each of the hazards. Put an "X" in each box that applies and
transfer those safeguards to the "specific safeguards" sections of the JLA above.
The safeguard list below is not a complete list of safeguards for work. Each hazard from each job step in the JLA needs to be
completely evaluated for the best safeguard using the hierarchy of controls. The safeguards below are typical and are provided to
help the JLA developers with some of the most common safeguards.
