Tuitions Vs Self Study

I am sure you all know at least one person who attends three, four or maybe
even five tuitions a day, and yet academically he still performs worse than his
peers who don’t attend tuitions. Why is that? If tuitions are so beneficial, why
doesn’t everyone just sign for multiple tuitions and get a ninety percent?

I’ll tell you why. Because tuitions are nothing but a waste of time, money and
energy, and something that most people do because everyone else is doing it.
Take my word for it, hours and hours of tuitions cannot beat a single hour of
honest self-study. Schools and classes exist for a reason, and I spend six hours in
school every day so that we can learn, and not so that I can go back and
accomplish in an hour long tuition class what I couldn’t in my six hours at school.

At this point, tuitions are nothing but business ventures, with money minded
tuitions centers coming up all over the place. The number of students in each
batch is ever increasing, because the more students a tuition teacher can fit in
their batch, the more they can earn. This leads to a depersonalization and
mechanizing of the sacred art of teaching. Needless to say, this has an adverse
effect on the students, as not only can they not learn, they are also throwing
away their time, energy and money.

Self study not only helps students study better, as they can take studies at their
own pace, it also gives them a good work ethic, which is invaluable. Regading the
syllabus and doubts, they can always rely on their teachers at school, or even
approach them during the break or free periods if they need personal assistance
regarding a concept.

Tuitions not only cause mental and physical exhaustion, they can also be huge
burden on a child, to a point that they are counterproductive. I firmly believe that
self study is the way to go, and there is no place for tuitions in the pursuit of
academic excellence.
