Once activated, there is no need to alter the settings. A/C may come on automatically to condition and dehumidify the air. The system uses rocker switches to activate various functions. The rocker switches are touch-sensitive; they will display the function. Toggling these switches changes the action of that function Driver and Passenger Controls 1. AUTO Displays set temperature. Press to activate AUTO for each zone. Press again to deactivate AUTO. Changing the air distribution or fan speed will also turn off the AUTO function 2. 3-ZONE/SYNC Toggles through four system settings: Open/Close wide vent, 3-ZONE, SYNC and Set Rear. The wide vent is located in front of the passenger to disperse air more evenly. With SYNC activated, the settings for the driver's side are applied toall other areas except for seat heating/ventilation. If settings for the passenger or rear are changed, SYNC is disabled. Set Rear allows the rear seat settings to be controlled from the front panel. 3. Air Distribution Press up or down repeatedly until the desired distribution setting is displayed 4. Fan Speed Press up or down repeatedly until the desired fan speed is achieved 5. A/C Toggles through ON, OFF, A/C MAX. Indicates when air conditioning system is on. The A/C system only works when the fan is on. When AJC is off, the air is neither cooled nor dehumidified, and windows may fog asa result. AUTO mode turns on A/C. Activating A/C MAX will cool and dehumidify the vehicle interior as quickly as possible. Temperature will be set to LO and fan speed will increase. 6. Seat Heating Press repeatedly to adjust heat level. 7. Seat Ventilation (Optional) Press repeatedly to adjust seat ventilation airflow. 8. MAX Defrost Clears the windshield of fog or frost as quickly as possible Most of the air will be directed to the windshield vents, and temperature is regulated automatically. Once the windshield is clear, readjust the settings. Sufficient engine heat is necessary for effective defrosting 9. Recirculation Press the button to recirculate air in the cabin and prevent outside air from entering 10. Defrost Rear Activates electric heater embedded in rear glass. The heater will turn off automatically after about 10-20 minutes, depending on the outside temperature. 11. Top Open/Closed Setting The A5/SS Cabriolet features two climate control memories, one for when the top is closed and the other for when the top is open. For example, when the top is opened, the climate control system reverts to the last open top climate control setting and radio volume settings. Controls Center Console The Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI) is controlled from the center console 1. MMI Control Knob and Optional Touchpad The rotary pushbutton allows you to browse menus and zoom in and out of map views by rotating the knob, and select items by pressing the knob. The knob can also be shifted in four directions: Up: Opens the text field to enter alphanumeric information (e.g., Navigation address). Within a menu, shifting up enters the speller function. Down: Opens the active audio source shortcut. Left: Opens and closes the Selection menu Right: Opens and closes the Options menu. MMI Touchpad Enter alphanumeric information by writing with your finger on the touchpad. The MMI will display your entry*. > Toenter a space, swipe left-to-right. To delete a character, swipe right-to-left. > While in navigation/crosshair mode, the touchpad can be used to scroll the map or crosshairs. 2. NAV/MAP/TEL Function Switch Toggling up repeatedly will switch the display between navigation input mode and map mode. Toggling down will enter the telephone function. 3. RADIO/MEDIA Function Switch Toggling RADIO up repeatedly will move through radio bands (AM, FM, SiriusXM, Presets). Toggling MEDIA down repeatedly will move through the available Media sources (Bluetooth, SD, USB, etc.). This allows you to select auxiliary devices and manage music and video content in Folders, Playlists and Tracks. 4. MENU Opens the main menu, allowing you to choose a function (e.g., RADIO, TEL, NAV, Audi connect, etc.) 5. BACK Moves back through the menu hierarchy in reverse order of your recent selections, When entering text, pressing BACK will delete a character. Pressing and holding will remove all characters on a line. 6. Left Control Button Left button opens and closes the Selection menu to call up further functions for individual menu items. 7. Right Control Button Right button opens and closes the Options menu to select specific options for individual menu items 8.
