Publication of NP 5012 Symbols and Abbreviations Used on Admiralty Electronic Charts, ENC’s

1. Background

UKHO’s Operations Digital Charting Standards, and others have been working hard to progress the new NP5012, Symbols and
Abbreviations Used on Admiralty Electronic Charts, ENC’s, to publication. This, along with another new product NP231, is part of
enhancing the chart users’ understanding of ENC and ECDIS. NP5012 is designed in the very familiar style and content format of
NP (formerly Chart) 5011. Its first print run on publication in June will be 15,000.
