Materials:
Powerpoint slides, Sentence
strips

Task Procedures:

1. Show the power point slides of the pictures from Sang Kancil and The Crocodile story.
a. Show the powerpoint slides one by one.
“Look at the screen” (Point to the screen).
2. Ask pupils to name the pictures on the slide.
3. Point to the word on the power point slides and read the word.
4. Pupils listen and repeat after teacher.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for the other pictures.
6. Praise pupils for their effort, “Awesome/Good job!”
7. Ask pupils to gather at the front of the class. Model the game with the help of one pupil.
a. Place all cards facing up on the table.
b. Pick one picture card (e.g jungle) and one word card (e.g jungle)
c. Show the pupils that they must match the correct picture with its word (e.g jungle picture card with the
word card until all the cards are matched.
d. Get the volunteer to pick one picture card and find the match (the word card)

8. Ask pupil to work in pairs.


9. Tell pupils that they can refer to their TEXTBOOK or PICTURE DICTIONARY if they do not know the
answer.
10. Distribute one set of Matching Picture game cards to each pairs.
11. Move around to monitor pupils.
Classroom Management:
When the pupils start to become noisy and out of control, the teacher plays ‘Simon Says’ game. by giving the
instructions as follow:

a. Simon says Stand Up!


b. Simon says Sit Down!
c. Simon says Shhh…!

Managing errors and mistakes:

a. If pupils read the sentences incorrectly/poor pronunciation, ask them to stop. (Teacher ring the bell twice)
b. Get a high-proficiency pupil to read aloud the sentence before getting the rest to follow.
c. Teacher will correct the pupils’ pronunciations.

Reward and Feedback

a. Praise pupils when they read the dialogue correctly, i.e. “Awesome! Good Job!”
b. “Stars in the eyes” – put the entire pupils name on a chart, every time the pupils complete exercise, stamped a
star next to their name. When they complete 10 stars, use the “Lucky Dip Box”. Put their hand into the box
and pulled out a prize. (Stationeries etc…)
