POLITICIANS IN THE WORLD

 INTRODUCTION

The following report will allow me to present you with some of the world’s
greatest politicians of all times, what they have acomplished and how they have
influenced some of our current politicians, we will review the past and how
politicians have been able to evolve thanks to the knowledge that has been
pass through to them through mentors and history books. We will also review
politicians that had and have great influence but not for the best.
 SUMMARY

Before we continue to talk about different politicians around the world let’s first
have a clear meaning of what a politician is, internet says “A politician is a
person active in party politics, or a person holding or seeking an office in
government. Politicians propose, support and create laws or policies that
govern the land and, by extension, its people. Broadly speaking, a "politician"
can be anyone who seeks to achieve political power in any bureaucratic
institution.” So in our modern world we have all kinds of politicians, we have
good ones, bad ones, young politician, wring wing politician and so many
others. Let’s first talk about Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi best known as
“Gandhi” he was an exeptional leader who lead the campaign for India’s
Independence he was a very intriguing person since he succesful led this
campaign with a strict non violence policy he got his inspiration for non violence
from Lev Nikoláievich Tolstói, Gandhi was involve in nationwide campaigns for
easing poverty, expanding women's rights, building religious and ethnic amity,
ending untouchability, and above all for achieving Swaraj or self-rule. Another
great politician was Nelson Mandela, he spent 27 years of his life in prison but
never stop fighting against institutionalized discrimination against black people
in his country, known as Apartheid he was able to negotiate the ending of
Apartheid and became the first black president of South Africa in the first
multiracial elections in the country, he received many honours and awards
including the Nobel Peace Prize. In history not everything is good so we have a
man who was a great politiican and have great oratory skills that is how he was
able to get to power by democratic means, this person was Hitler who caused
great horrors to the world which could’ve gone different if he would’ve use his
influence for the good, he had great influence in the people and among some
other politicians, but unfortunately his thirst for power made him do some awful
things against human’s lives.

Now let’s talk about some of our current politicians, first we have Barack Obama
who was able to become the first African-American President of the United
States of America as part of the Democrat party and served for two terms,
during his time as president he was able to make some great acomplishments
such as the Health Care Reform that has allowed over 20 million people to
receive coverage in the country; the uninsured rate has dropped from 16
percent in 2010 to 9 percent in 2015, he was also able to resume relations with
Cuba in 2014, took steps to open diplomatic and commercial ties with Cuba,
ending the failed Cold War policy of isolation. In March 2016, direct mail flights
to Cuba resumed for the first time in fifty years. American tourists may also now
freely visit the country. He was involve in creating new laws for a green
enviroment,, he was able to reduce unemployment and it was also during his
Administration that Al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden was captured and
neutralized, in general his politics was always oriented in solving problems
that’s why he was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. Now we have Vladimit
Putin who is the current President of Russia before beggining his political career
he worked as a KGB foreign intelligence officer for 16 years, once he started his
political career he served as Prime minister and then was elected as President
in 2012, Putin has been able to mantain his power and political influence since
he decided to start his political career, he’s on the conservative party and even
though some people consider him to be a bit extreme on his politics but he has
proved to make some achievements, under the Putin administration from 2001
to 2007, the economy made real gains of an average 7% per year, making it the
7th largest economy in the world in purchasing power. In 2007, Russia's GDP
exceeded that of Russian SFSR in 1990, having recovered from the 1998
financial crisis and the preceding recession in the 1990s. At last but no least we
have politician and diplomatic Sergio de Mello he worked on several UN
humanitarian and political programs for over 34 years, Sergio Vieira de Mello
was working as United Nations Special Representative for Iraq when he was
killed in the Canal Hotel bombing. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a leader of the al-
Qaeda terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for the blast. A communiqué
from al-Qaida said that de Mello was assassinated because he had helped East
Timor become an independent state, thereby stealing territory from the Islamic
Caliphate.
 CONCLUSION

As we can see politicians are very important because they have the power to do
so much good for people but it can also be dangerous for someone to have so
much power, with the summary that was presented we can see that not all
politicians use their power to benefith all people some become to blind with
power and go the wrong way, but we most never forget that there’s still people
in which we can believe we just have to support the good ones and be more
involve so we can learn the difference between the good ones and the bad
ones.
