The study focused on the lived experiences of discipline zone enforcers in

the implementation of discipline zone program of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The study used qualitative type of research method. Data have been collected from
interviews of discipline zone enforcers. There were nine participants chosen to be
part of the study. The data were interpreted and analyzed by using the
phenomenological analysis procedure developed by Colaizzi (1978). After the
rigorous analysis of the interview transcripts, three major thematic areas of textural
dimension of discipline zone enforcers’ experiences in Dumaguete City, emerged:
perception towards enforcement of discipline zone program, method of
apprehension, and characteristics of motorists.

The study revealed that the perception of the discipline zone enforcers
towards the implementation of the program was risky yet effective. On the other
hand, the method of apprehension had two dimensions namely; verbal warning; and
issuance of citation tickets which has also sub-categories into informing traffic
violators of the violation committed, apprehending in natural/professional
approach, zero tolerance, and fairness in apprehending traffic violators. The
motorist in Dumaguete City was classified into conformist and irresponsible
motorists.
