Why learning conditions are important in second language learning? Explain in
detail?

It is considered that there is a requirement for good learning conditions for learning
a second language. As a second language is a more social form of learning, there
are social conditions needed for optimal learning. These conditions are motivation,
support at home, prior linguistic knowledge, learning environment, teaching
strategies, comprehensible input, student personality, age and being comfortable
residence. In this paper I will be discussing only age and motivation among all nine
of those conditions to show why learning conditions are important.

The first condition needs no introduction as it is motivation. It is a common

knowledge that motivation is a major factor for almost anything. For example, the
need for money is motivating my father to work. Similarly, a learner needs to be
motivated to learn second language. On the other hand, if a child is forced without
the motivational condition being met it is clear that that child I will consciously try
to not learn.

Second language learner can learn without meeting the proper conditions.
However, it will be slow and painful for the learner. As such, learning conditions,
specially age and motivation are very important for learning a second language
optimally.
