SHOULDER FUNCTION TEST - this test is done to inquire about pain and observe range of

motion (ROM).

1st position:

For the first position, the patient was able to place his right hand at the back of his head
and the left hand at the back of his neck. The patient felt pain upon doing this position.

2nd position:

For the second position, the patient placed his right hand near his gluteus maximus and
the left hand at the lower part of his back. The patient had difficulty in doing this position and he
said that he cannot reach his upper back anymore. He stated that he experiences pain on his
muscles as it lasted. When asked to rate the pain from 1-10 after the assessment, he answered 7.

3rd position:

The patient placed his left hand at the back of his right shoulder. After that, he placed his
right hand at the back of his left shoulder. The patient did not have any difficulty doing this
position.

Range of Motion (ROM)

When patient was asked to abduct and adduct and flex and extend his shoulder, he had
difficulty doing it and he stated that it becomes painful.

Summary for Shoulder Function Test

The patient did not have any difficulty doing the first and third positions, but he had
difficulty doing the first and second one. He stated that he felt pain will placing his hands at his
back. In addition, he cannot do full ROM for his shoulders because he stated that it is painful.
