COUNTER ATTACK ON SCHMIDT

Scenario GH001
Hürtgen Forest, Germany, November 6th, 1944: The Allies are in hot
pursuit of the Axis forces retreating toward Germany. The Germans
continue to fight with tenacity and excellent tactics. Once such battle
that depicted the effectiveness of German tactics was the battle of the
Hürtgen forest. After taking the village of Schmidt the US forces were
met by a German counter-attack by the 116th Panzer Division that sent
the Americans routing. Upon, their retreat to Division HQ the American
commander, Major General Norman ‘Dutch’ Cota orders Lt. Col.
Richard Ripple to retake the village of Schmidt. Elements of the US
707th Tank Destroyer Battalion are going to the assistance of the US
112th Division to give the Germans their eviction notice!

Special Rules Aftermath
