It is one of the best-known poems by author Robert Frost that was published in December 1920

in Harper`s Magazine and three years later in a Pulitzer Prize winning book, in this poem the
author talks about the end of the world, expressed in two possibilities, in fire or ice, since there
are varied opinions, on the one hand some say that it would end in fire due to the fact that the
earth's core warmed up or that the sun would expand in such a way that it would calcine the
planet , others believe that the end would be through the ice due to the theory that the planet
would be saved from the expansion of the sun, moving away from it, but it would cause
temperatures to drop to such a degree that the earth would freeze, both fatal scenarios for the life
of the planet and of all the living beings that inhabit the earth.

At the same time, the author compares the end in fire and ice to destructive human emotions,
which places no limits on his greedy ambitions for selfish enrichment that are alarmingly wiping
out vulnerable ecosystems on the planet, just like major conflicts. of human beings blinded for
selfish reasons, which also contribute to the self-destruction of the human being as a species.

The writing of this poem is written symbolically, where human emotions are compared and
contrasted with fire and ice, on the one hand a "natural" destruction so to speak, from which the
planet never escaped and another "induced" destruction For the human, that this can be avoided
so, the poem, very artistically, supports the philosophy that we let our emotions rule us and, if we
do not control them, they will surely bring us all to the brink of chaos ..
