Student Name: Julia Mower

Date: 7/17/2020
Portfolio Artifact Description: Science Fair Presentation – Do a science experiment
and create a linear PowerPoint of the experiment.
What you learned/overcame: I learned how powerful dish soap is with my experiment.
I was having a difficult time coming up with something to do. This experiment was fun to
do though. I learned more about adding images and designing my PowerPoint slide. I
think it was easier to figure out once I knew what I was doing and figured out my
experiment. I think I worry myself more than I need to because in the end it always ends
up alright. I learned more about linear PowerPoints and using the designs of
PowerPoint to make my presentation more fun.
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NETS)•S
Addressed: Standard #3 KNOWLEDGE CONSTRUCTOR 3a: Students plan and
employ effective research strategies to locate information and other resources for their
intellectual or creative pursuits.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: The skills that I learned from this that I
will be able to use in the future are creating PowerPoint presentations. These can be
useful as a teacher to use to present information to a class. I also learned more about
ideas to give students to learn. I could use the same activity in the classroom with
science projects, or other research projects. It is helpful that I know how to use
PowerPoint if I am going to have my students use it so that I can help if they need help.
