In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic and in compliance with CHED-COVID Advisory No. 6 dated April 13, 2020, the ISAT U Board of Regents through BOR Resolution No. 10-2020 dated May 5, 2020 approved the Modified Academic Policies for implementation this 2"¢ Semester of Academic Year 2019-2020. A. REMAINING ACADEMIC CALENDAR * Classes for 294 Semester, AY 2019 - 2020 will end on May 29, 2020. Faculty members shall continue to adopt the work from home arrangement utilizing alternative modes of teaching, learning and assessment while the students shall remain in their respective homes ue to the following reasons: a. Giving primary consideration to the preservation of life, safety and well-being of all students, faculty members, non-teaching personnel and other stakeholders of the University b, Compliance with Executive Orders and Lock-down Exit Plan of the Local Government Units * Physical Distancing * Avoidance of Mass Gathering * Curfew * Suspension of Classes * Weekend Block-off Issue on the point of origin (localized ECQ) Financial difficulty among students Limited Availability of Transportation Boarding Houses will not accommodate returning students reas B. GRADING SYSTEM © Faculty shall exercise maximum consideration and leniency in giving grades to their students with modified requirements without compromising the attainment of learning outcomes. ‘* In assessing the performance of the students, numeric grade shall he given. ‘+ Themidterm grade will serve as their final grade ‘© For classes who have not given the midterm examination, all available bases in the computation of grades such as, but not limited to quizzes, oral presentation, performance tasks shall be utilized. Semester, AY 2019-2020 shall be given one (1) semester extension to comply with the requirements (1*t Semester, AY 2020-2021), ‘+ Students with incomplete (INC) grade this 2»! Semester, AY 2019-2020 will be allowed to enrol in courses with prerequisite in the 1 Semester, AY 2020-2021. C. SUMMER/MID-YEAR CLASSES + Summer/Mid-Year classes shall not be offered on June-July 2020 both Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. ‘+ Regular summer classes for Undergraduate Programs Courses will be offered during the ‘Academic Year 2020-2021. Pre-requisites may be considered as co-requisites. * Students may be allowed maximum overload during Academic Year 2020-2021. D. THESIS/DISSERTATION REQUIREMENTS ‘* For undergraduate programs with thesis, the pre-oral defense grade will be the basis in giving the final grade. Final defense is no longer a requirement. © For graduate studies program, the thesis/dissertation final defense will be extended until May 29, 2020 and can be done through any available platform. © Submission of hard bound copies of the thesis/dissertation prior to graduation will be suspended. However, hard bound copies shall be required for the release of Transcript of Record (TOR), Diploma and Exit Clearance E. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ‘© For internship program, the Student Internship Program (SIP) Coordinator shall be responsible in assessing/evaluating the performance and outputs of the student trainees and in the computation and submission of their grades. F, Maximum Residency Rule (MMR) ‘+ Residency requirement for students shall be suspended for this semester only. G. GRADUATION CEREMONIES ‘* There shall be no in-person Commencement Exercises for this Academic Year. However, if feasible, virtual Commencement Exercises may be done across campuses on the date to be decided by the Administrative Council and Academic Council. Graduating students may also opt to join the regular commencement exercises during the Academic Year 2020-2021. # Academic Honors will still be awarded to qualified graduating students. Vice Presidents, Campus Administrators, Deans, Directors and Department Heads are requested to disseminate this Memorandum to all concerned for their information and guidance, 'f.
