Understanding Liberalism in Politics

Liberalism is a political ideology that believes individuals should be free to pursue their own goals as long as they do not infringe on others' equal freedom. It emphasizes interdependence between states and sees military power as less useful due to globalization and increased trade and communication ties between states. Liberalism argues for a cosmopolitan morality over a balance of power and sees humanity benefiting from a peaceful international order through development and trade.
