2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In the first instance, the event was to take place between July 22 and August 9,

2020, but, due to the coronavirus disease pandemic, which caused the

abandonment of Australia and Canada, on March 24, 2020, the Prime Minister

Shinzo Abe and IOC President Thomas Bach agreed to postpone the event with

the name "Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games." 6 A week later the new dates were

announced, between July 23 and 8. August 2021.

The new Olympic stadium It has a capacity for 68,000 spectators and will host the
opening and closing ceremonies, in addition to the majority of athletics events and
some football matches

There is an event held every four years where athletes from almost every country

meet to share and compete in more than 25 sports. The Olympic Games is the

biggest sporting event in the world. More than a competition, it is a call for

humanity to remember that humans across cultures can unite around a cause and

live in peace. This is why the five colored rings of the Olympic flag are meant to

represent the five continents of the world all intertwined as one. That is the true

meaning of the Olympics: one world united by sports.

The modern Olympic Games are composed by Summer Games and Winter

Games. They are celebrated every four years but there are 2 years between the

Summer and Winter Olympic Games, so they are never celebrated the same year.

They take place in a different host city, selected by the International Olympic

Committee (IOC).

Tokyo is ready to make history, and preparations for the Opening and Closing

Ceremony of the Olympic and Paralympic Games are ongoing.

It will be the largest and most watched ceremony of the year, with billions of people

tuning in at the same time to watch the show and celebrate the Olympic spirit.

As part of the preparations, the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympic and

Paralympic Games has established a "Basic Policy" to offer a ceremony in which

everyone can enjoy and at the same time highlight the attractiveness of Japan and

Tokyo to the world. .

The "Basic Policy" defines our approach to the creative production of the Opening

and Closing Ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

4012 athletes from 206 countries competed, to which the Mixed International

Teams were added, made up of athletes from different countries and genres that

performed under the Olympic flag

Some of the new places you will see under construction when you visit Tokyo will

be:

Olympic Stadium: This recently rebuilt stadium will host opening and closing

ceremonies, as well as field and track events, athletics. Located in Shinjuku, it will

be difficult not to see it while exploring the area.

Aquatic Center: One of the largest buildings ever built. Like many of the new

infrastructures, it is located in the Koto neighborhood, in Tatsumi Seaside Park.

Coliseo Ariake: As you will see very soon, there are many stadiums located in the

Koto neighborhood. This will host wheelchair volleyball and basketball events.

Olympic Gymnastics Center: Also located in Ariake, it will carry out gymnastic

activities. It is one of the many buildings in the Koto neighborhood for the Olympics

still under construction.

Olympic Village: This is one of the essential enclaves of these 2020 Tokyo

to the Olympics, one in the traditional area and the other in the Tokyo Bay area.

They will house all athletes from the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Canoeing Channel in Slalom: It is one of the most interesting places of the

Olympics. It is located in Edogawa, a little further from the city, but it is a good

place to carry out water sports. And it's not too far from Disneyland!

Sea Forest Channel: The last one on the list is also located in Aomi, in the Koto

neighborhood. Not far from Odaiba, this will be one of the main venues for the

water sports of the Olympics

in my opinion it is one of the best events since it brings different cultures and sports

in a single event which makes us see several objectives and not just one
