Summary Findings
In my county that I am residing in, I was surprised by a lot of things associated with the
education area of my findings. First off, the population was higher than I expected in the
county itself. I thought it would be much smaller. The unemployment rate is smaller than
I thought. It might be skewed a little bit due to the circumstances that arise over the past
few months. The voting turnout was lower than I expected, because we vote for different
elected officials that help run the city and county, and as stated above that the turnout
was low. The graduation rate was pretty impressive, but the college degree stat was
lower than I expected. Mainly that would play into people going straight to the work
force right after high school. The school report card was impressive minus that students
were absent a lot of the time. 13.8% is pretty high, but it was a decrease of 9.3% from
last year. The state absentee percentage was 12.5%. Inside the district it is 9.6%
