Scanned with CamScannerAtty. Rene K, Burdeos started his government career in the then
Department of Local Government and Community Development (BLGCD) as
@ young twenty two (22) year old Barrio Development Worker (BDW) in
Agusan del Norte in December 17, 1975 after finishing a six (6) month pre-
service training in Ozamiz City in the same year.
Fulfilling his interest to become a lawyer during his childhood days, he
sought transfer in 1978 to the Regional DLGCD Office in Cagayan de Oro
where he subsequently enrolled in a law course.
As he faced the rigors of law school he also ascended to higher
technical positions in the DLGCD. And by the he finished his law degree in
1982 and passed the Bar Exam in 1983 he was already a Senior Local
Government Officer (Assistant Division Chief).
From hereon, and until the renaming of the DLGCD to DILG
(Department of the Interior and Local Government), he held various
management positions such as City Director, Provincial Director, Assistant
Regional Director, and Regional Director.
Atty. Burdeos has experienced working under both a centralized
system of government and a decentralized system and witnessed first hand
how local government units worked in both systems. He has a good grasp of
the Local Government Code of 1983and the Local Government Code of 1991.
After his retirement in 2018, he has received invitations from Cebu
City, Cagayan de Oro City, Valencia City, Cabadbaran City and some
municipalities of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Agusan del Norte, and Agusan
del Sur to conduct lectures on local government Administration. A number
of his certificates are attached hereto.
