Scenario One: Local Government - Cobb County School District: Positive

Nikki/Sophie: Good Afternoon/Morning! My name is _________ and I am an intern with the

communication’s department for Community Organized Relief Efforts, also known as CORE.
Would you have a moment to speak with me about setting up a possible partnership between
our organizations?

Cobb County School District: Yes, I have some time now and would be happy to discuss a
potential partnership.

N/S: Good to hear! Are you familiar with CORE and our mission?

CCSD: I am familiar with the organization’s name but would love to hear more about what
CORE is.

N/S: Of course! CORE began in Haiti in 2010 as a relief effort after a major earthquake struck.
Sean Penn, the founder of this organization took immediate action to rebuild the Haitian
communities. In response to COVID-19, CORE has taken over developing free testing sites
across the nation in an effort to fight COVID-19 pandemic. We are able to do this by partnering
with community organizations and local governments to bring testing sites to locations
accessible to the community.

CCSD: Oh wow, that is great! What should I expect out of a partnership?

N/S: Well that would largely be up to you and your organization! Currently we have partners
who donate space for us to host testing sites, provide outreach, or even provide additional
funding. We acknowledge that every organization has a different capacity for what they can
offer in a partnership. In return, CORE provides operations and safety guidance, personnel,
PPE, and the facilities equipment at any and all testing sites. Does this seem like something
your organization would be interested in pursuing?

CCSD: You have definitely given me a lot to think about. Though I cannot say for certain which
type of partnership would work best for our school district, I would like to take this offer to the
responsible parties within the school board to discuss further. Who can I contact with our final
decision?

N/S: I can give you the email address of the head of the communication’s department whenever
you are ready.

CCSD: I’m ready!

N/S: Teni-Ola Ogunjobi, teni-ola.ogunjobi@coreresponse.org.

And here is my contact information and you can contact me if any questions arise.
nikkifilto@bobcats.gcsu.edu or sophia.hale@bobcats.gcsu.edu
CCSD: Okay, thank you.

N/S: Thank you for your time and consideration! We look forward to working with you!
