A lathe is a machine tool that performs the rapid turning of revolution parts of metal, wood and

plastic. It is also often used for polishing parts. - A base material is attached to the lathe chuck. -
The lathe is lit and the chuck is rotated. - The carriages are moved where the blade is to the base
material. - With the auxiliary trolley the blade is moved to perform on the base part of the desired
shape. Then we will see the shapes or operations that can be done with the lathe. The speed at
which the workpiece rotates on the lathe is an important factor and can influence the volume of
production and the duration of the cutting tool. A very low speed on the lathe will cause time loss;
a very high speed will cause the tool to be challenged very soon and time will be wasted to
sharpen it again. Therefore, the correct speed and feed are important depending on the material
of the part and the type of cutting tool used.
