On Monday and Tuesday, I began writing the section “Sociocultural Factors in the Grief
Experience.” In this section, I plan to describe how cultural, religious, and spiritual backgrounds
may influence how individuals cope with grief. Rituals and traditions offer individuals a way to
process and express their grief. I included some information regarding rituals and traditions from
classmates’ discussion posts. On Wednesday, I felt a little under the weather so I rested in the
morning, which explains why my hours started much later in the day; however, I was still able to
be productive. I continued to develop the section containing information about the “Sociocultural
Factors in the Grief Experience” and began working on the reflection paper that is due July 19th.
play such an important role throughout the grief experience for patients and families in the
United States. On Friday, I began adding any remaining citations, updating my reference page,
and adding a key words page. These improvements will be some of the finishing touches before
submitting the final paper to my supervisor. She has already acknowledged that my information
has been very detailed and thorough. She even recently said that my research paper is the best
research paper she has read on patient advocacy, which was very rewarding and reassuring. I
think if my internship was in a normal length semester, I would have liked to add more
information in certain sections but there simply was not enough time. I worked on my journal
throughout the week but finally submitted it on Friday. I plan to submit my research paper to my
supervisor either on Sunday night or Monday. I will complete my reflection paper early in the
week in order to focus on perfecting my resume and completing the mock interview.
