Evidence 4: Resumen “Product distribution: the basics”

The author intends to recommend that when choosing a correct transportation of products,
in large or small business mode, you must find a balance between time and restrictions and
the transportation you choose is reliable so that your customers do not feel disappointed to
choose the transport you have to analyze the type of cargo: perishable, dangerous, fragile
and cost.
Considerations to choose the correct transport mode:

Budget: Should be the most important factor in decision making, Transport speed and
delivery time of the products: If you have perishable items, send them by sea, more than
three months is a bad idea. Taking products that can be classified as hazardous, there are
several guidelines that should be followed and contact the branch of the Department of
transport of dangerous goods.
Put and Size: Choose the right transport for your products based on the size and urgency of
the damage of your shipment during the fairly common transition, it is usually the
provider's responsibility to ensure that shipments are properly packaged and labeled to
reduce risk.
Road transport: Road transport is cheap, comfortable and flexible, but this disadvantage is
not respectful of the environment and may be subject to weight, size of cargo and,
occasionally, long delays.
Rail transport: It is fast and the environment has a large load capacity, however, it can be
very expensive.
Air transport: Air freight is undoubtedly the fastest way to transport your products over
long distances, but it is expensive and its limited weight is not very ecological.
Shipping: Compared to air freight, its products by sea are relatively cheap, especially if
large volumes are shipped.

However it is quite inflexible and slow, there are relatively few ports and they should
probably make arrangements to transport their products inland.
