The promoter is intending to set up a dairy at Gut No. 64, Village Dakshin
Sawargaon, Taluka Umri, District Nanded. for this the promoter will use land owned by
him for the proposed project. The promoter has obtained necessary approval for setting
up the unit on the said piece of land from appropriate authority and has also taken steps
for the site development at the proposed site.. All necessary facilities such as water,
electricity and transportation are readily available to the promoters at site. The location
of the unit is one of the important advantage available to the promoter as the unit is
located just 35 Kms from Nanded.

DAIRY FARMING:

Dairying is an important source of subsidiary income to small/marginal farmers

and agricultural labourers. The manure from animals provides a good source of organic
matter for improving soil fertility and crop yields. The gober gas from the dung is used as
fuel for domestic purposes as also for running engines for drawing water from well. The
surplus fodder and agricultural by-products are gainfully utilized for feeding the animals.
Almost all draught power for farm operations and transportation is supplied by bullocks.
Since agriculture is mostly seasonal, there is a possibility of finding employment
throughout the year for many persons through dairy farming. Thus, dairy also provides
employment throughout the year. The main beneficiaries of dairy programmes are
small/marginal farmers and landless labourers.
TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY:

The Promoter intends to set up the dairy which is near to veterinary aid, breeding
centres and milk collection centre or milk marketing facilities and the financing bank's
branch. The livestock market is also very close from the selected area where the good
quality animals are bought and sold. There is also very good grazing land surrounding the
selected area. Green/dry fodder, concentrate feed, medicines etc. are also readily
available.

ECONOMIC VIABILITY:

The animals are available at the average rate of Rs.20000/- per buffalo. The feeds
and fodders, veterinary aid, breeding of animals, insurance, labour and other overheads
are available at reasonable cost. The revenue from sale of milk, manure, male/female
calves, other miscellaneous items covers the entire cost.

VETERINARY AID :

The scheme area is situated close to the nanded city where the required veterinary
aid is readily available. All types of veterinary aid is available from the same source. The
veterinary doctor visits the scheme area at regular intervals.

WATER :

The requirement of the water is mainly for the domestic purpose i.e. for the
drinking of animals. Thus the requirement of the water is mainly for the domestic
purpose which will be procured from the local taps or by digging a bore well at site.
LABOUR:
